12 DAY CENTRAL VIETNAM
The Riders Support Tour
Da Nang – Hoi An – Hue – Khe Sahn – Dong Hoi – Phong Nha – Hanoi
This Tour runs alongside the 12 Day Ho Chi Minh Road Tour, allowing partners and non riders to enjoy the same destinations as the riders, same day. This tour is for those who prefer to take a more leisurely route and not on a motorbike. Travel in air conditioned comfort, relax beach or bar side or check out the markets and wait for the riders to come in off the Ho Chi Minh Road.
There are options available to accompany the riders on some legs in the open jeep support vehicle. This would need to be arranged prior as part of your itinerary.
The geographic heart of the nation, central Vietnam is packed with historic sights and cultural interest, and blessed with ravishing beaches, outstanding national parks, Vietnams food capital Hue and its Imperial Citadel, royal tombs and excellent street food. Your clients can savour the unique heritage grace of riverside jewel Hoi An and check out Danang, fast emerging as one of the nation’s most dynamic cities. A must-visit destination is the extraordinary Phong Nha region, home to three gargantuan cave systems (including the world’s largest cave), and a fascinating war history concealed amid stunning scenery. Enjoy well-earned downtime on the golden sands of An Bang Beach or learn to cook central Vietnamese cuisine. Vietnam, a country known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant street food scene, is also steeped in a rich cultural heritage that is waiting to be explored and experienced. From its ancient traditions to its thriving art scene, Vietnam offers a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences for your clients, allowing them time to delve deeper into the country’s cultural roots. The Vietnamese experience will not only leave them in awe but will also give them a profound understanding of Vietnam’s historical and cultural significance.

Day One: Arrival in Da Nang
Our coach driver and guide will meet you on arrival in Da Nang City and then after a brief city tour, we will lunch at A Bang Beach. The Beach is just 25ks from Da Nang City and 6ks from our destination, Hoi An. We will have a chance to relax at the beach, browse around a local riverside café area and recover from the flights as you enjoy your first taste of Vietnamese hospitality.
Check into our hotel and relax poolside or wander down to the UNESCO Heritage Ancient City of Hoi An. The markets, local bars and cafes are all within an easy 1k walk from our hotel. This is free time so we can meet for an evening meal or you can experience the local street food options – great choice.
Day Two: Hoi An
A chance to explore the Ancient City of Hoi An , it’s a full day exploring the narrow streets, markets and sampling the street food available in the ancient city. Today we can get you to the Tailors to get you all measured up and fitted, or there any number of tours that we can arrange. The river trip to the local fresh produce markets followed by the cooking class at Red Bridge is recommended.
Day Three: Hoi An
Last day in Hoi An, so there are more unseen streets to check out and you may need to get back to the tailors or get to the leather goods shop! The coffee and cafes along the river also need to be ticked off.
Tonight the Hoi An Memories show may be on the agenda! This day we could also look at Ba Na Hills with one of the worlds longest Gondola Rides and The Golden Bridge.
Day Four: Hoi An – Da Nang
Moving up to Da Nang today so we have some options here on that departure time. As Da Nang is just 30 minutes away you can leave Hoi An any time you like. In Da Nang we have you booked in near the walking streets and the beach. You have an extra night in Da Nang as the riders will overnight in Prao up on the Ho Chi Minh Road
Day Five: Da Nang
Both riders and supporters have a full day here in Da Nang so some options here if that day bumming at the beach doesn’t suit: The Lady Buddha Statue and Temples on Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountain or Dinner Cruise on the river.
Day Six: Da Nang – Hue
This is the most famous section of road and rail in Vietnam, made famous by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame. We have a great trip to Hue via the pass for both groups, Lan Co Beach, rice fields and villages. A ride of about four hours into Hue for the riders and the supporters are up and over the pass via the tourist train.
Day Seven: Hue
Extra night here for the supporters group. The riders are out of Hue early tomorrow morning heading to Khe Sanh and you’ll need that day to check out the Citadel, the river cafes and maybe do that rickshaw food tour in the evening.
Eight: Hue to Quang Binh National Park
This is moving day for the supporters as you head north to Quang Binh National Park to meet up with the riders. Kick back and let the miles click bye as we head into the rice fields and villages of rural Vietnam
Day Nine & Day Ten: Phong Nha
Back with the riders again who have put in some miles and time on the bikes, so here in Quang Binh National Park, we’ll have some loop rides you may want to join in on or you can enjoy the pool as you watch the buffalo working the rice fields. A tour of Paradise Cave is included in your tour costs. One of the world’s largest caves it’s a must see.
We have free time here for all to do as they please. Ride or walk the village roads, go into Phong Nha township and wander the river, or – back on the bike and do some loop rides out in the country or possibly relax poolside for the day.
Day Eleven: Phong Nha- Dong Hoi
We need to get back into Dong Hoi to fly out tomorrow morning and to return the bikes via the coast, rickety bridges and fishing villages into Dong Hoi. A chance here to relax on the beach or streets of an authentic Vietnam small coastal town, my old home town. Don’t believe what they tell you. This could be a big night.
Day Twelve: Dong Hoi to Airport of Departure
We will book your flights to your choice of departure city, likely to be Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. If you depart from Da Nang your best option is to return by train, a fantastic journey.
Add on packages: Ho Chi Minh & Hanoi
Vietnam Direct have add on packages for both your arrival and departure locations. In Ho Chi Minh City, Cui Chi Tunnels, The Mekong Delta and of course the local markets are well worth an extra day or two.
